There will always be exceptions to the rule, but for most part it is widely accepted that to really build foundations for a successful Affiliate Marketing business you need to have some key strategies….And those are:

1. Your very own squeeze page or review page
2. Some type of form capture to collect your visitors name and email address.
3. A free gift offering to attract your visitors to provide them with their details.
4. An auto responder account
5. Follow up email series etc…

So before you stop reading thinking I’ve heard all this before, that is true! but it still remains a major reason why a number of affiliates cannot move up a level with their marketing. The obvious reason for this is that their visitors go straight to the merchants account and they are lost.

So yes everything that has been said above are key elements to achieving success, but are new innovations in marketing moving the goal posts again, and what could this new factor be?

Quite simply I personally have noticed an ever increasing move towards video, and yes although this has been going on for some time the extent of this change is moving at a pace.

You see, not only do you have the You Tube type video messages or promotions, you now have video email and in recent times a number of marketers are now increasing the use of video on sales pages. To coin a phrase used by Michael Cheney, Cash Cannons! these are video sales letters on mini sites that are proving to convert very well.

So is it reasonable to expect then that affiliate marketing would not be exempt from this evolution? you guessed it, it is right at the cutting edge. In the near future it will not be enough to have a normal squeeze page system to collect your visitors details, more and more is expected and if you cannot move with the cost or technology you are in danger of been left behind.

If you’ve witnessed this yourself you will have seen that some of these video presentations are quite slick and it goes without saying that these cost to be produced, and hence only the most successful online guru will be in a position to compete on technique and resources.

The key principles of affiliate marketing still hold, but you need to embrace the move towards video in your affiliate marketing efforts.
